Andean Opal
Andean Opal contains a combination of some or all of the following
colours: a swirling of pink, black, beige and blue. The most common
includes variations of different blues. Due to the “pictures” and
earthy coloured stratas often produced, it has also been referred to
as a Landscape Opal.
Andean Opal can be used for spiritual journeying to protect, to assist
one in selection, and to bring an availability to the locations one
wishes to visit. It has been used to facilitate divination as well
as instilling knowledge of “right action”.
This stone is found in the Andes Mountains of South America.
Chrysocolla
Chrysocolla’s colours range from a vitreous
earthy green to a bluish-green and deep blue.
It is a stone that promotes
and enhances physical vitality as well as harmony. By helping one
to release the distress arising from negative
emotions, it facilitates re-alignment toward the perfect state of health
and well-being.
The stone can be found in North and South America.
Jasper
The colour range of jasper includes dark red, orange,
yellow, tan, brown, green, grey and blue.
This mineral is known as the “supreme nurturer”.
It was considered a sacred stone and often worn by shamans to provide
protection.
Red jasper induces health and re-birth. It balances the yin-yang energy
as well as balancing the physical, emotional and intellectual energies.
The
stone comes from Mexico, North America and India.
Lapis Lazuli
Lapis Lazuli is a deep blue colour, sometimes
flecked with gold.
Lapis lazuli is a “stone of total awareness” and knowledge,
helping to expand awareness and intellectual capacity, and allowing
for conscious attunement to the intuitive and psychic aspects of one’s
own nature.
The stone comes from Chile and Afghanistan.
Rhodocrosite
The colour range includes pale pink to deep
red, yellow, tan, orange and brown. Those crystals in the rose colour
range are highly collectable
and valued.
This stone has been called a “stone of love and balance”,
providing balancing and love on all levels for all bodies. It removes
tendencies toward avoidance or denial, and helps one to be willing
to both accept and to integrate new information while maintaining a
clarity of intellect. It also acts to stimulate the energies of the
body, encouraging the maintenance of the state of optimum health.
The
stone in the rose colour range comes from Uruguay and Argentina, in South
America.
Serpentine
Serpentine’s colour range includes green,
black-green, brown-red, brown-yellow, and white. The most highly prized
is the light green
colour.
This stone is one that helps to connect the wearer or user to
their higher self. It can be used to clear the clouded areas of the
chakras,
and to stimulate the crown and general self-awareness. It is also an
excellent stone for enhancing the meditative state.
This stone can be
found in many places in the world, which include Australia and North
and South America.
Sodalite
The colour range includes a dark, almost midnight
blue colour.
This stone helps to eliminate confusion, and to both equalize
and stimulate one’s intellect. It also facilitates the manifestation
of the qualities of companionship and mutual dependence, encouraging
self-esteem, self-trust and trust in others.
The stone comes from Brazil.
Spondylus
Spondylus is a shell, and was considered to be
more precious than gold by the Inca peoples. In fact, they called it “red gold”.
It can only and uniquely be found along the Pacific Ocean beaches and
coasts of northern Peru and Ecuador.
Spondylus was said to protect the
wearer, as well as overseeing physical and spiritual wealth.
It comes
in the exotic colours of orange, purple, blood red, and their mixes.
For the crushed stone technique mainly Lapis Lazuli (blue), Jasper
(reddish orange/brown), Chrysocolla (Green) & Serpentine (beige/green/sand)
are used.
